- What is an Ontario driver's abstract?
- It is the Ontario government's record of your driving history, issued by Ministry of Transportation of Ontario. "Driver's abstract" is the ministry's own term for it; the same document is called a driving record, a driver record, a 3-year driver record.
- Is a driver's abstract the same thing as a driving record?
- Yes. They are two names for one document, and nothing about what you receive changes depending on which word you searched for. Ontario paperwork tends to say "driver record", people tend to say "abstract", and outside Canada the same thing is usually called a motor vehicle record or MVR.
